Installation
On the day of installation, we take great care to protect your home before any work begins. We bring protective coverings for any furniture remaining in the room and lay durable mats to safeguard your flooring. When we arrive, we introduce ourselves and explain the plan for the day so you know exactly what to expect. Once everything is confirmed, we prepare the working area and ensure it is fully protected before starting the installation. Most installations are completed within one to two days, depending on the complexity of the project.
For inset or insert stove installations, we begin by removing any existing fireplace, or if a gas fire is still connected, we arrange for a qualified Gas Safe engineer to remove it safely. If the installation is chimney-based, we may need to either make the chimney opening smaller within tolerances as requested, or enlarge the area depending on what was there before, to accommodate your new stove. The hearth is then set in place and left to adhere properly to the base floor. Once set, we fit the stainless steel chimney liner, fire boards and register plate before carefully positioning the stove. Every stage is carried out with precision to ensure a perfect fit and a clean, professional finish.
For freestanding stove installations, we start by preparing the area where the stove will be positioned and setting the hearth securely in place. While the hearth is curing, we install the twin wall flue system to create a safe and efficient flue route. This system is ideal for properties without a traditional chimney, providing flexibility in stove placement. Once the flue system is fitted, we complete the installation by positioning the stove and carrying out all necessary checks to ensure it performs safely and efficiently.
After the installation is complete, we carry out a full series of safety checks in line with both HETAS and government regulations. We then take the time to demonstrate the safe operation of your new stove, sharing helpful tips and advice to get you started. Each customer also receives a detailed help sheet we have created, which covers useful information on operation, maintenance and recommended suppliers for quality firewood. Before we leave, we tidy the entire work area and ensure everything is ready for use. We also offer an annual maintenance service to help keep your stove performing safely and efficiently for years to come.
